Getting Started With Chiropractic

What To Expect Many people don’t know what to expect when they get started with a chiropractor. Hopefully this article will help ease the tension about planning your first visit to a chiropractor. Living with back pain is no fun and the longer you let it go, the more time it will take to get better, so please give us a call and schedule your appointment today. The First Visit Most chiropractic offices operate about the same, so even if you are not located in Dallas Texas and planning to visit Dr. Perez, your experience should be about the same. One the first visit, you should be asked to complete a comprehensive questionnaire to inform the doctor about your injury and lifestyle. This will help determine the best treatment to get you back to 100% again. Depending on the injury type and previous injuries, you may need x-rays to determine the extent of the problem. Once the cause of the problem is identified, the doctor will likely provide treatments the same day. The first treatment will almost always be a gentle manipulation. Prior to the manipulation, the treatment area is sometimes massaged or loosened up with a heating pad or electric stimulation. Throughout the entire treatment, you should not experience any pain and you should be perfectly comfortable. Following the first treatment, you may experience some soreness around the...

Sitting Behind A Desk?

Many people wonder if sitting at a desk all day is bad for their health. Even with the latest ergonomic seating options and anti carpel tunnel devices, 1000’s of desk work related injures are reported every month. Back, hip, wrist, and neck injuries are some of the most common type of problems, but other issues are also reported, such as Diabetes, weight gain, dry eyes, and varicose veins. Controlling your eating while sitting at your desk is very important, as well as taking regular breaks away from your desk. This will help keep your muscles from getting too tight and keep your blood circulating. Plan for health snacks throughout the day, including as many fruits and vegetables as you can eat. Avoid foods found in vending machines and sodas. As for back, neck, and joint issues, it’s a good idea to exercise and stretch on a regular basis for preventive measures. If you experience pain you should immediately inform your supervisor and visit a chiropractor or medical doctor to determine the type of injury you have sustained. In most cases, a quick chiropractic treatment may fix the problem, while others may be more difficult to...

Chiropractic Changed My Life

When I was younger I participated in many sports and outdoor activities that ended in bodily harm, including broken bones, aching joints, scrapes, bruises, and back injuries. After years and years of damage to my body, I was used to a certain amount of pain on a daily basis, but eventually it got so bad I couldn’t even tie my shoes. Even the most simple activities would cause a great deal of pain, such as putting socks on in the morning, getting in/out of a car, or picking up trash from the ground. I was in so much pain I just stopped doing anything that involved bending over. I lived with this type of pain for almost two years, hoping it would just go away on its own. After two years I had finally accepted the fact that I was not going to get better unless I did something about it, so I made an appointment with a chiropractor. This chiropractor also called himself a wholistic healer and he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and had two large hoop earrings. I hate to say it, but I should have known better than to stay, just from the looks of this guy. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and ended up getting about 10 treatments. My initial instinct was correct about this guy, he was not a very...

Fastest Way To Recover From An Auto Accident If you have been involved in an auto accident, there’s a good chance you have been injured. Many people disregard auto accident injuries, because they were only in a fender bender, but even the slightest of accidents can cause serious damage to the human body. Immediately after an automobile accident, you should make an appointment to see a doctor to find out if you received any injuries. A chiropractor is an excellent choice for a doctor after an auto accident. Chiropractors can take x-rays to identify any broken bones or spinal damage and they are experienced in muscular and joint issues as well. Many times immediately after an accident, you don’t feel pain because of the adrenaline rush or the shock of the accident. It might not be until the next morning that you wake up feeling aches and pains from the accident. Head injuries are also a critical issue in any car accident. If your head was impacted during the accident, you must get immediate attention. You may have suffered a concussion or even worse, a contusion, where the brain is bruised from the impact of the accident. These can both result in serious brain damage or even death, so a head injury should not be taken lightly. Yet another reason you should see a doctor immediately after an auto...
